Mumbles Rangers Under 11 Game 1 Mumbles Rangers 3 Gowerton Jaguars 0
This was almost a training match for the Rangers even
with several 1st team players not available. The first goal
coming from Curtis, (the ice man) Mildenhall. The second
following on within minutes being scored by Cian (the grafter)
Richards. The third goal scored by William (top gun) Davies. The
final score did not really reflect just how one sided this game
was. I must make a special mention to Elliot (the terrier)
Leggett who despite being kicked by most of the Gowerton team
kept his head and showed them just how football is played. Well
done Ell'
Game 2
Mumbles Rangers1 Garden Village Juniors 1
This game was completely ruined by the weather, in
almost blizzard conditions a very good Village side took the
lead with a well worked goal. The game was brought to a halt by
the referee who decided it was to dangerous, seconds later he
changed his mind and decided to carry on. The weather proved to
be a leveller with both teams creating chances. For a second
time the referee brought things to a halt. The second half
proved to be a tougher time for the Rangers with the wind in
their faces, all their efforts were finally rewarded through the
human goal machine William (top gun) Davies.
Game 3
Mumbles Rangers 2 Garden Village Colts 0
By this time all the players just wanted to go home but
their spirit and love of the game kept them going. Again this
was a fairly one sided affair with the Rangers getting most of
the play. Once again up popped William (top gun) Davies to put
the Rangers in the lead. Rangers goal keeper, Hamish (the cat)
Addey wanted to see more of the ball just to keep warm but the
Rangers Defenders, Lewis, (the net buster), Jones and Elliot
(the terrier), Leggett ensuring he had little to do. The final
nail in the Village coffin was a typical long range shot from
Lewis (net buster) Jones. One player who lived up to his name
today was Curtis (the ice man), Mildenhall who really did look
like an ice man today !
