 U9 KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT SEPTEMBER 4th 2007 MATCH 1 Mumbles Rangers U8 1 – 1 Birchgrove U9 TEAM: LLOYD EVANS, BRADLEY DENTY, MICHAEL THOMPSON, ZAK WILLIAMS, TOM ANDREW, LEWIS HUMBLE, JOSH WALLIS. After being 1-0 down following a rebound shot from Lloyds excellent save Mumbles U8’s responded in great style with Zac scoring off the post following a good run from Lewis. A special mention to Lloyd in goals who made some great saves throughout the game. MATCH 2 Mumbles Rangers U9 1 – 0 Mumbles Rangers U8 TEAM: LLOYD EVANS, BRADLEY DENTY, MICHAEL THOMPSON, ZAC WILLIAMS, RHYS THOMAS, FINLEY CAPEL, SHANE HARRIES. Again mumbles were forced to play uphill and with the U9’s making all the pressure it took great defending especially from Mike and Bradley. Following a good move from the U9’s we went a goal down and despite a spirited fight back we were unable to equalise but a wonderful rearguard performance nevertheless. MATCH 3 Talycoppa U9 1-0 Mumbles U8 TEAM: LLOYD EVANS, BRADLEY DENTY, LEWIS HUMBLE, ZAC WILLIAMS, TOM ANDREW, JOSH WALLIS, RHYS THOMAS. Against a team who eventually lost the final our boys more than held their own with Zac working continuously in midfield. Great runs from Rhys and Tom, a great team effort was undone by a good goal by Talacoppa long range strike. A lot of late Mumbles pressure late on but unable to equalise. MATCH 4 Mumbles Rangers U8 1-1 Murton U9 TEAM: LLOYD EVANS, FINLEY CAPEL, MIKE THOMPSON, ZAC WILLIAMS, LEWIS HUMBLE, TOM ANDREW, SHANE HARRIES. The boys left the best until last playing some great football, we took the lead with a fine strike from Shane .With some spirited defending over the final period of the game a Murton break down the right resulted in an equaliser which we were unable to come back from.
